Petra Blum, is a senior researcher with ICIJ. Before joining ICIJ, she has been a reporter with WDR, a German public broadcaster based in Cologne, for almost ten years. For WDR she has participated in a number of cross-border investigations.
In 2015, she was part of the Swiss Leaks project, studying secret bank accounts and focusing on tax fraud. During the Panama Papers, Petra was part of the team which unearthed the hidden money of people closely associated with Russia’s head of state. Petra shared in the Pulitzer Prize which was won for Panama Papers. With the Paradise Papers, she focused on corruption in the extractives sector, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Petra is also a book author. Her 2014 award-winning book about corporate culture provided an in-depth and below-the-surface look into the culture and conduct of multinational companies.
