Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, KCMG, Ph.D., MA, FGS, has been the Chairman of Hermes Equity Ownership Services since 2009. Sir Moody-Stuart has been a Director of Saudi Arabian Oil Company since August 2007. Sir Moody-Stuart served as Managing Director of Royal Dutch Shell Plc from 1991 to 2001.

Sir Moody-Stuart served as the President of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine from 1997 to 2008 and Chairman of the Global Business Coalition for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria from 2002 to 2011. Early practical experience gained in Spain, Oman, Brunei and Australia was in 1976 focused on to the major challenge of leading Shell's teams in exploring the U.K. North Sea-at a time when the fields in the northern North Sea were coming on stream and new exploration plays were developing. Thereafter, he left exploration for more general management, working in Africa, Europe and Asia. Sir Moody-Stuart served as Chairman of The Shell Transport and Trading Company Limited from 1997 to 2001 and served as its Managing Director from 1991 to 2001. He was involved in developing Shell's businesses in those countries, working with national governments to initiate a number of major projects as its most Senior Representative in Turkey and Malaysia.

He was Coordinator of Exploration and Production Operations outside North America at Shell since 1990. He spent his entire working life with Shell, largely working in countries outside of Europe. From 1998 to 2001, he served as the Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell Plc. He served as Non-Executive Chairman of Anglo American plc from December 1, 2002 to August 1, 2009. He served as a Director of Accenture Plc, a General Partner of Accenture SCA (now Accenture Holdings plc) from October 2001 to February 4, 2015.

He served as a Lead Director of Accenture plc since November 2002. He served as a Director of Anglo American Platinum Limited. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Anglo American plc from July 16, 2002 to July 2009. He served as a Director of Royal Dutch Shell plc. He served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HSBC Holdings plc from March 1, 2001 to May 28, 2010. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Shell Transport and Trading Company Limited since 2001 and previously served as its Director from July 1, 1991 to 2001. He is Chairman of the Global Compact Foundation and the Innovative Vector Control Consortium. He was a Co-Chairman of the G8 Task Force on Renewable Energy from 2000 to 2001.

He serves as a Member of Governing Board of Indian School of Business. He is Vice Chairman of the UN Global Compact. He is a Governor of Nuffield Hospitals. He is a Director of UN Global Compact. He was a Member of Advisory Council for Global Compact of the UN Secretary-General from 2001 to 2004. He became a Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George in June 2000. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society, the Royal Geographical Society and the Institute of Petroleum, which also awarded him the Cadman Medal in 2001. Sir Moody-Stuart is an Honorary Fellow of St John's College Cambridge and the Society of Chemical Engineers. He has an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Aberdeen, an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Royal Holloway University of London and a Doctorate in Geology from Cambridge University.
