Mr. Ceda Ogada is Deputy General Counsel at the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He joined as Counsel in 1999. Mr. Ogada works in particular on country operations and on IMF policy development and application. He has taught several courses on the legal and policy framework of the IMF and made various presentations on the same at international conferences and seminars.
Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Ogada worked for the United Nations and in private legal practice in the United States. A national of Kenya, Mr. Ogada received his preparatory education in Nairobi. He obtained a liberal arts degree from Dartmouth College with a major in history (1988) and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School (1991).
