I am a young canadian diplomat, currently on a 2 years assignment at the Canadian embassy in Bamako, Mali, West Africa, working as a development officer. I mainly monitor development projects in the Governance sector with a focus on human rights, gender equlity and anti-corruption. I have been wanting to comprehend the complex and widespread corruption practices and more importantly pro-corruption attitudes stemming from high ranks public servants, in the african continent. I have come to realize that there is a correlation between results based management and corruption as the more public institutions or CSOs aim at implementing thorough results based management practices the less corruption attitudes and behaviors would be the norms. I feel I need to listen to and learn from experts who have worked and done researches in the African continent.
