Christiaan (Chrik) Poortman is a Senior Advisor to TI, including representing TI, at the Climate Investment Fund. He is the Chair of the Board of the Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST). Chrik is a member of the Board of the Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF) which supports citizens and CSOs in fighting public sector corruption. He is a member of the Board of the Coalition for Integrity (previously TI USA). Until 2006, Chrik worked at the World Bank (WB) in Washington DC as Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa. Before that, he was Country Director for South East Europe during which time he oversaw the WB’s assistance/reconstruction programs in the Balkans. Previously, he was the WB's Country Manager in Zimbabwe. Before joining the WB, he worked as an economist in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Swaziland. Chrik has an MA Economics, Groningen University, Netherlands and attended the Management Development Course, Harvard University.
