Lena’s research interests areas are: (1) Representative democracy with a particular focus on issues of women's political influence and gender equality. In this area, she examines mainly Swedish conditions and developments from the 1970s onwards. (2) Gender and corruption where she compares countries with each other but also regions within one and the same country, with a particular focus on conditions in Europe. (3) The role of anxiety for democracy and social development. Again, it is mainly Swedish conditions, which are the focus. Lena’s list of publication can be found here.
